I am a homeschooling mom in Central Virginia and would like to share some of my thoughts and resources with other homeshool parents and people thinking about homeschooling. Homeschooling is growing at a rapid rate, and I think that our access to a vast amount of inforamation, thanks to the internet is partially responsible for that. I have taken it upon myself to make sure that my children are not "left behind". My personal philosophy is that my children can learn best in a loving environment surrounded by learning adventures that they enjoy. I also believe that to instill a love of learning in your children, you must yourself enjoy and continue to educate yourself. Just as children who are raised with parents who are avid readers tend to become readers themselves, I believe that children who are raised in an environment where parents continue to pursue knowledge will value that in their own lives.
